Universal health care has been in the news a lot lately, and many religious organizations are fighting it tooth and nail.
This, to me anyway, seems kind of contrary. Why would religious organizations want to prevent the people from getting proper medical treatment? One would think that they would want to encourage this to help prevent suffering by their followers!

I personally have some reservations about universal health care since I know that the government never quits expanding whatever it is doing, like a cancer, but I also know that universal health care is the right thing to do. (See Code 2 and 8)
I would like four things to be written into any universal health care bill. First, it covers everyone under 18 for ALL non elective medical procedures/doctors bills/etc. Second, we maintain medicare/medicaid as it is or better. Third, it is limited only to medical care to sustain a minimum healthy life for all other people. And finally, that any new provisions after the first bill is past have a 1 or 2 year sundown clause in them.
